" 5 His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave Him great pleasure."
Galatians 4:5
" 5 God sent Him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that He could adopt us as His very own children."
I love adoption. If I were to ever have kids, I would adopt. I always thought it was funny how adoption was used in a negative light when it came to humor in movies. Lines such as, "Nobody loves you. You were adopted!" I feel like if anything, it would be the other way around (not that there should be favorites at all...). They're trying to illustrate it as if the person who was adopted doesn't belong because they're not blood related, which I realize probably happens a lot. But I always pictured it as this: there are thousands, if not millions, of children who are up for adoption, and you specifically choose a certain one(s). And they're that special one(s) for that family. That's like what God did, but He took it so much further than that. He - the King of Kings, Creator of all, Savior, etc. - adopted us to be His children. He knew us before we were born, knew all of the crap we were/are going to pull, and He still welcomes us to be His children. He makes His home in our hearts and welcomes us into His. How great is that?
