A Masterpiece

Ephesians 2:10
"10 For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things He planned for us long ago." (NLT)

mas·ter·piece

n.
1. An outstanding work of art or craft.
2. The most outstanding piece of work of a creative artist, craftsman, etc.

When I think of a masterpiece, I think of four things:
1) Julian Beever (Pavement Picasso) http://www.julianbeever.net/ . The man is a freaking genius when it comes to pavement drawings.

2) Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Not even going to expound upon that, I'd be typing for hours.

3) Christopher Nolan (or rather, his movies). This dude is a cinematic genius, and simply amazing at what he does.

And 4) (don't hate) Bob Ross. The man made a masterpiece right before your eyes in  half a flippin' hour. Seriously, watch this, it's phenomenal.

Bob Ross is known as "The Happy Painter". You'll often hear him say things like, "happy little tree's" on his show. Which, is kinda weird, but the point is his joy.  He has so much joy when painting, and even when he's not painting. There were several times when he said that one of the things he enjoys the most is cleaning the brushes, particularly drying them. He's sincere, and he has an awesome fro/beard.
This may seem like a bit of a stretch, but it reminds me of our Creator (not so much the fro part). We are His masterpiece, the ones created in His image for His purpose; He delights in us. It kinda goes back to yesterday's post in Psalm 139:13-14,
"13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - and how well I know it." .
He created us, and not just like, "BOOM! Humans". He formed our individual beings; every cell, every molecule, every detail. And I'm pretty sure He did so within a half hour time period, too. He's known all along what our appendix does, and he knows why we yawn. He formed all of our physical aspects, as well as gifts, abilities, etc. And I think one of the things I love most is that He didn't just create us and then just go about His business; He's constantly shaping and molding us, continually perfecting us for His glory and by His love. We are His masterpiece, "The most outstanding piece of work of a creative artist, craftsman, etc."
