" 7 So accept each other just as Christ has accepted you; then God will be glorified."
I feel like way too often we fight for peoples acceptance of us; of our clothes, our humor, our personalities, our looks, our lingo, our tastes, our faith, our hobbies, etc. It's human nature to want to belong with people; to fit in & be apart of something; to be acknowledged & loved. I find it sad that we feel like we need to fight for that, whether it be a little or a lot. I feel like especially for christian's, we try to be accepted by the world a lot of the time, but we don't need to - we're set apart from the world. And even if we're not seeking the acceptance of the world, there's still that desire to be accepted by someone. And a lot of the time we seek that acceptance out through a relationship. The thing that I love so much is that we simply don't need to. We don't need to seek out the acceptance of others; it's offered to us freely by Christ, who is above everyone out there combined. We don't need to try to be accepted by Him, have you ever stopped to think about what means? The lyrics that went through my head when I read that verse were from Amazing Love, "I'm accepted, you were condemned". I love that. He, the dude who made EVERYTHING - time, earth, the universe, us, existence, etc - and knows all of our sins, even the ones that haven't happened yet, fully & wholeheartedly accepts us.
The song below is one that's really close to my heart and effects me in a powerful way. It's one of the songs in my truth playlist that reminds me of what Christ has done in my life, and how incredible He really is.
